Ukraine's intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have been tasked with determining the circumstances surrounding the Russian strike on Vyshneve in the Kyiv region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy said the situation in Vyshneve remains critical following the Russian attack, with secondary explosions continuing at the site.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has been briefing the President every 30 minutes on the rescue operation, debris removal, and firefighting efforts.
"I expect the Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence to conduct a thorough investigation into what happened in Vyshneve," Zelenskyy said.
Strike on Vyshneve
Overnight on July 6, Russian forces launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine, launching numerous ballistic and cruise missiles at Kyiv and the region.
One of the targets was the town of Vyshneve in the Kyiv region. Following the strike, secondary explosions broke out at the site. The attack destroyed five streets.
Residents were warned that air quality had deteriorated sharply, with pollution levels reaching the highest, "red," category.
Authorities have also opened two evacuation centers for residents wishing to leave the town.
