Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Argentine President Javier Milei and invited him to visit Kyiv, according to the President’s post.
Zelenskyy congratulated Milei on his party's victory in the parliamentary elections.
The Ukrainian President noted that Argentina is making significant efforts to succeed and become strong, and he wished that the country continues to implement all necessary reforms.
"I invited the President to visit Ukraine to continue our dialogue and discuss all key prospects for developing relations between our countries – we truly have many projects we can carry out together. Our teams will stay in touch," Zelenskyy added.
Elections in Argentina
Recently, Argentina's President Javier Milei's party, La Libertad Avanza, won key midterm elections, which were seen as a test of support for his reforms.
Milei became president in December 2023. According to official data, inflation in Argentina that year reached 211%.
Around 40% of the country's population lived below the poverty line. In less than two years of his presidency, the country achieved a budget surplus, and inflation fell to approximately 36%.
Milei has focused on economic and political reforms aimed at stabilizing finances and attracting investment.
During his term, measures were introduced to reduce the state deficit and simplify the tax system.
In addition, Milei actively supports infrastructure modernization and seeks to strengthen Argentina's international relations.
Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine is interested in learning from Argentina's experience with deregulation and overcoming inflation.
