President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed the intelligence service to share data on the AZAL plane crash with partners. The passenger plane crashed in Kazakhstan on Wednesday after failing to land in Grozny, Chechnya.

According to him, the whole truth can be established in the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, and Russia cannot hide anything.

“Ukraine will provide all the assistance that is needed. And we urge you to support Azerbaijan in this situation. And every country - to put pressure on Russia to stop the lies about this disaster - the same lies as were told about MH-17, about the Boeing shot down over Donetsk region,” Zelenskyy said.

He also said that it is necessary to establish the responsibility of those in Russia who allowed the plane to be targeted.

“Today I heard an intelligence report on what happened and the data we have. I have instructed to pass on all the facts to our partners,” the President added.

What Ukrainian intelligence said

Earlier, Chief of Defense Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov said that the passenger plane that went down in Kazakhstan was shot down.

As far as we know, the plane was shot down by a Russian Pantsir S1 air defense system on the territory of Russia,” he said.

American intelligence does not rule out this version either. According to Reuters, citing sources familiar with the investigation, the Embraer 190 came under fire after it deviated from the area in Chechnya where air defense against drones was actively operating.

Earlier today, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the plane had been physically and technically interfered with over Russia, after which it completely lost control.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin apologized but did not admit that the Azerbaijani plane had been targeted by air defense.
