Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on six individuals and over 40 entities from Russia, Iran, and China
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has imposed sanctions against six individuals and more than 40 legal entities from Russia, Iran, and China, according to the website of the Presidential Office.
In particular, decree No. 638 imposed sanctions on six citizens from Russia, Iran, and China for a period of ten years. Sanctions were also applied to 40 legal entities from Russia, Iran, and China for the same duration.
Decree No. 369 imposed sanctions on two companies: the Russian LLC Plant of Ship Lighting Equipment Mayak and the Federal State Enterprise Kazan State-Owned Gunpowder Plant.
Sanctions against Russia
On August 23, the United States expanded sanctions against Russia, targeting its defense and metallurgy sectors, as well as the supply of dual-use goods.
At the end of August, the US Treasury and State Department introduced a new package of sanctions aimed at nearly 400 individuals and entities both in Russia and abroad, including in Asia and Europe.
Today, the United States imposed sanctions on individuals and entities involved in illegal financial transactions between Russia and North Korea.
