Zelenskyy holds meeting with government on grain exports
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting today, September 25, with government officials and the Office of the President regarding grain exports, according to a statement from the head of Ukraine.
"I held a meeting with government officials and the Office regarding our grain export. We coordinated further steps and recorded the achievements," the statement said.
According to him, the European Commission supported the roadmap for mutual monitoring of grain exports, which is entirely rational.
Zelenskyy also adds that emotions are gradually being removed from this issue for most matters. He emphasizes that working with neighbors can and should become entirely constructive, and Ukraine is doing everything for that.
"Thirdly, I am grateful to those partners of ours who did not allow violations of EU trade rules and the Association Agreement. We expect the same constructive joint work as with Bulgaria and Romania from the other three neighboring countries," the president said.
Zelenskyy adds that the European Union is a space for mutual understanding and cooperation.
Conflict between Ukraine and Poland
Recall that on September 15, the European Commission lifted the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain into Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania. However, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia imposed a ban at the state level.
Ukraine filed lawsuits against Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary to the World Trade Organization over the grain import ban.
During the UN General Assembly session, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that European partners were undermining solidarity with political theater. In response, Poland made a series of sharp statements, including reducing aid to Ukraine over the "grain issue" and arms supplies.
