Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy holds a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Together with the military, they discuss the Russian attack on Ukraine, according to the president's evening address.

"I held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. There was a detailed analysis of today’s Russian strike and the use of our air defense. Usually, after massive attacks, we conduct such reviews of military operations – we identify weaknesses and also the experience that deserves to be shared," the president noted.

Zelenskyy mentioned that he listened to all the necessary reports today. According to him, special attention during the Meeting of the Staff was given to the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense.

According to him, during today’s strike, Russia used over 260 air attack assets, including cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as strike drones.

"Our military managed to respond to the strike in the most professional manner. I want to thank each unit, all the involved services, and all our soldiers. As always, the strike was repelled comprehensively," he emphasized.

Zelenskyy shared that during the repulsion of the attack, Ukrainian forces used fighter aircraft, including F-16s and French Mirage planes, which, according to him, performed very well.

"We used fighter aircraft – F-16s and French Mirage, which performed very well today. Emmanuel (French President Macron – ed.), thank you!" he added.

Earlier today, aviation expert Kostiantyn Kryvolap mentioned that the Russian military had changed its strategy for missile strikes on Ukraine.

Attack on Ukraine on the night of March 7

Russian army carried out another massive attack, launching missiles and drones against Ukraine. In total, the enemy launched over 250 air attack assets.

Ukraine's air defense managed to shoot down more than 30 missiles and 100 Shahed-type strike UAVs, as well as drones of other types.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, the nighttime shelling is not a path to peace. Ukraine is now awaiting a response from the United States.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for his part, stated that the first step towards peace should be forcing Russia to stop its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
