US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, stated that he does not consider Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy to be grateful for the assistance the United States provided.

The journalist asked Trump what exactly angered him during his meeting with the Ukrainian president at the White House.

Trump responded that Zelenskyy allegedly "took money out the US" during the presidency of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.

"He (President Zelenskyy –ed.) was able to… it was like taking candy from a baby, what he did. He's a smart guy, and he's a tough guy. And he took money out of this country (the United States –ed.) under Biden like candy from a baby," the American leader said.

The US president explained that he does not consider the Ukrainian president to be sufficiently grateful.

"We gave him $350 billion, and he's talking about the fact that they have fought, and they have, there's bravery because somebody has to use the weapons," the politician said.

At the same time, the American leader once again reiterated that under his administration, Ukraine was the first to receive portable Javelin anti-tank missile systems. He also said that if he were still in power, Russia's full-scale invasion would not have begun.

Earlier, Zelenskyy emphasized that over the three years of Russia's full-scale invasion, the US support amounted to $100 billion.

The president stressed that he does not consider this amount a debt. He had agreements with former President Joe Biden and the US Congress that the funds provided by the country were grants, not loans.

Previously, Trump stated in an interview that no one had been tougher on Russia than he was. He emphasized that he stopped important economic projects for the Kremlin.
