Ukraine has to combine two processes - protecting the energy sector from attacks and providing Ukrainians with electricity, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Today we also discussed the protection of our energy sector - specific facilities from specific threats. Now we need to combine two processes: protecting the energy sector from attacks and providing our people with electricity. And also it's time to start preparing for the next heating season," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He explained that the task is clear: Ukraine must do everything possible to protect lives, and every aspect of this work - from air defense and electronic warfare at facilities to the necessary construction and supplies - is the personal responsibility of everyone involved.

"From the government and the Air Force to energy companies and local services. I am grateful to everyone who has a conscientious approach to work" the Head of State said.

Instructions on weapons

"As a result of the discussions at the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I instructed the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Commander-in-Chief, each at their level, to work with partners to expedite the delivery of weapons - the implementation of packages and agreements. Promptness is important. The content of the packages is there, I don't see any problems with that today," the President said.

He also thanked the United States Congress for its decision to assist Ukraine.

"But there should be no problems with the speed of delivery and implementation of decisions either. We expect weapons in Ukraine for our soldiers," he emphasized.

Weapons from the United States

Last month, the US finally passed a bill to provide aid to Ukraine. At the same time, US President Joe Biden also announced a new package of support for Kyiv.
