Zelenskyy expects new Ramstein commitments for Ukraine in August–September

Ukraine expects new steps toward strengthening its resilience from Ramstein-format meetings in August–September, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address.
"I thank everyone who is helping us defend against Russian missiles. We are working, in particular, with the American side on relevant decisions regarding Patriot systems and their missiles. We are also preparing appropriate meetings this week in Italy," Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, he instructed Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to prepare the next Ramstein-format meetings in various formats. He also discussed several options today with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"The United Kingdom, together with Germany and other partners, is currently maintaining the functionality of the Ramstein format, and in August–September, we expect — we strongly expect — new steps from this format to support Ukraine's resilience," Zelenskyy noted.
Zelenskyy–Trump call on air defense
On July 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump held a phone call.
According to Zelenskyy, they agreed to work on strengthening the protection of Ukrainian airspace against Russian attacks.
The Ukrainian head of state also said they agreed to arrange a meeting between US and Ukrainian defense teams.
According to media reports, Trump promised during the call to help with the supply of air defense systems.
The conversation took place against the backdrop of a suspension in US weapons deliveries to Ukraine — in particular, shipments of Patriot missiles.
