Zelenskyy discusses visit date with Trump's envoys to Ukraine

A date is currently being discussed for US President Donald Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to visit Kyiv. This would be their first trip to Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement on Telegram.
Zelenskyy expects Trump's envoys
The head of state described his phone call with Witkoff and Kushner as "detailed and constructive."
"We are now discussing setting a date for the visit to Ukraine. This trip would be very useful for developing solutions for peace," Zelenskyy said.
He also briefed Trump's representatives on:
- The situation on the battlefield, where Russia has achieved little at the cost of huge losses;
- Airstrikes.
"Steve and Jared know many details. The teams will stay in touch to work out the agenda and determine the most convenient schedule for further communication," the president said.
He also thanked US President Donald Trump, his envoys and everyone in the United States working to achieve peace in Ukraine.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the planned visit of US President Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Ukraine had been postponed again. The trip was not canceled, but its timing changed amid intensified Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv.
It was also reported that Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Ukraine could potentially take place in early or mid-August. The Ukrainian side was expected to discuss new ideas for a diplomatic settlement with them.
In addition, Ukraine said it is ready for any format of negotiations that could bring a just and lasting peace closer. In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the issue of negotiations had been discussed at a special meeting.
