Zelenskyy discusses frontline situation with Army chief: Currently, maximum attention is being paid to border
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday, May 22, listened to two reports by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, regarding the situation on the front lines. Currently, maximum attention is being paid to the entire border, according to the Telegram channel of the head of state.
"I spoke with General Syrskyi today regarding the frontline situation. Report of Ukraine's army chief was received in the morning and just recently," said Zelenskyy.
According to him, the main battle directions have not changed. These are primarily the Pokrovsk and other Donetsk directions, as well as the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv region.
"The maximum attention is currently on the entire border, not only in the Kharkiv region but also in the Sumy region. The task for our units, in general, for the Defense Forces as well, remains unchanged. We must inflict maximum losses on the occupier," the president noted.
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff, Russian forces continue active assault actions in the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk directions.
In the Kharkiv direction, the aggressors continue to push towards the Lyptsi area. Ukrainian soldiers are also conducting active operations.
The situation is tense in the Kupiansk direction - as of the evening of May 22, there were 22 combat clashes in the areas of eight different settlements.
