Zelenskyy discusses ceasefire control with Macron and announces conversation with Erdoğan

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed control over the ceasefire on the frontline in Ukraine with President of France Emmanuel Macron. Zelenskyy announced a conversation with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, he mentioned this during his evening address.
According to Zelenskyy, Macron proposed excellent ideas regarding the issue of ceasefire control.
"We analyzed the state of diplomacy today and the available opportunities. We discussed the technical aspects of ceasefire control, possible next steps in diplomacy, and the protection of our people and our Europe. Security guarantees, the situation on the ground, and potential developments — all of this has France’s clear support," Zelenskyy said.
He also mentioned that he has a scheduled conversation with the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the discussion, Zelenskyy intends to inform him about Ukraine’s position on the ceasefire and its readiness for swift and fair diplomacy to end the war.
"Tomorrow, a summit of European partners will take place, where we will present our position and real information on what is happening — both on the frontline and in the Kursk region, as well as in all our contacts with partners. Security is a priority," Zelenskyy stated.
30-day ceasefire in Ukraine
During negotiations in Saudi Arabia between the Ukrainian and US delegations, Washington proposed implementing a 30-day ceasefire along the frontline. Ukraine supported this idea.
Following this, the US delegation traveled to the Russian Federation to discuss the same issue. However, Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated that Moscow was not interested in temporary truces with Ukraine.
In response, Zelenskyy said that Russia had yet to provide a substantive answer to the proposal for a 30-day truce. Kyiv is counting on US pressure to force Moscow to end the war.
Meanwhile, Putin stated that he agreed with the US idea of a truce but noted that there were certain nuances. Later, US President Donald Trump said he had leverage over Russian President Vladimir Putin but did not want to use it at this time.
