Zelenskyy discusses benefits of ATACMS with Speaker Johnson and leading senators

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and leading senators. One of the topics of discussion was the ATACMS long-range missiles, reported the head of the Ukrainian state on Telegram.
According to the Head of State, he also talked to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer.
The President thanked the US congressmen for their bipartisan support and leadership in the adoption of the law on financing assistance to Ukraine.
“I told my interlocutors about the situation on the battlefield, the need to strengthen air defense, in particular, with Patriot systems and the benefits of long-range ATACMS systems,” Zelenskyy said.
ATACMS for Ukraine
Yesterday, on April 24, US President Joe Biden signed a law providing more than $60 billion for aid to Ukraine.
After that, the US immediately announced a new $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine. As Zelenskyy later explained, it included long-range ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 kilometers.
The US Department of Defense said that Ukraine had already received ATACMS in early April. The transfer was secretly approved by US President Joe Biden.
Sources of The New York Times said that Ukrainian soldiers had received more than a hundred of these missiles in total.
