The Nordic countries (Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway) have expressed their support for Ukraine's victory plan initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. These nations will also provide Kyiv with new aid packages, including military assistance, according to the official online representation of the President of Ukraine.

"Today we agreed on Nordic support for the Victory Plan, which I presented to key partners. This Plan can push Russia toward peace if it is implemented," stated the President of Ukraine.

During his visit to Iceland for the fourth Ukraine-Northern Europe summit on October 28, Zelenskyy noted that these countries are providing defense support to Ukraine, particularly in weapon production. They are also assisting in preparations for winter and the construction of shelters.

The Ukrainian president expressed gratitude to Iceland's Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson for organizing the summit and commitment to international law.

Zelenskyy also highlighted Denmark's leadership in investing in arms production in Ukraine.

"And today all the partners confirmed their readiness to follow the Danish model," he stated.

Additionally, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Finland for its recent defense package for Ukraine, as well as for its involvement in the coalition for shelters and the organization of a conference based on the peace formula regarding environmental protection.

Strengthening Ukraine's air shield and more

The Office of the President of Ukraine added that Zelenskyy also acknowledged Sweden's assistance to the energy sector ahead of the heating season, and Norway's support in enhancing air defense, and maritime assistance, as well as its long-term financial backing for Ukraine and readiness to strengthen the energy sector.

Additionally, summit participants discussed Ukraine's additional needs for air defense and proposed ways to strengthen the air shield with Patriot missile systems.

"Volodymyr Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of granting Ukraine an invitation to NATO," the Office reported.

Statements from Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway regarding assistance to Ukraine

Iceland's Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson emphasized the importance of increasing funding for the energy sector and defense support for Ukraine during the summit.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson noted that Stockholm has joined Denmark's initiative to support the development and production of artillery shells in Ukraine, with a contribution exceeding 20 million euros.

He added that the Swedish side will also assist Ukraine in preparing for winter. Additionally, Stockholm plans to join the program for supplying missiles for air defense, F-16 aircraft, and demining equipment, the President's Office reported.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated that his country is preparing another support package for Ukraine, specifically for the construction of shelters.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that the participating states of the summit are striving to support Ukraine's defense industry as much as possible.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced a new aid package for Ukraine amounting to 500 million euros, of which 350 million will be allocated specifically for military assistance.

It was previously reported that on October 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Iceland for a working visit.

Additionally, from October 28 to 31, Reykjavík is hosting the 76th session of the Nordic Council. This serves as a political summit for the countries of Northern Europe.

Zelenskyy's plan for Ukraine's victory

It was previously reported that Ukraine's victory plan, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was presented in the Verkhovna Rada on October 16.

The plan includes an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO, strengthening the country's defense, and shifting the war's focus back to Russia. It aims to contain Russian aggression and establish special strategic and economic agreements with Ukraine's partners. Additionally, the plan outlines provisions for the post-war period.
