Zelenskyy concerned Trump and Putin may reach deal behind Ukraine's back, WP learns

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his inner circle are concerned about potential agreements between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, The Washington Post informs.
According to the WP, Zelenskyy and his top aides want to ensure that after tomorrow's phone call, Putin and Trump don't present Ukraine with a fait accompli that Ukraine can't accept.
This was reported by an American diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomatic conversations.
Trump plans to call Zelenskyy and Putin
As a reminder, on May 17, Trump announced his intention to hold phone calls with both Putin and Zelenskyy. He plans to do so tomorrow, on May 19, hoping that these contacts might help achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The Kremlin has already confirmed preparations for the conversation. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made the relevant statement.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Presidential Office shared its expectations regarding Trump's dialogue with Putin.
In recent days, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, Mykhailo Samus, Director of the New Geopolitics Research Network, said that joint negotiations between the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States could turn into a real psychological showdown. However, during the conversation, Samus noted that in this situation, Zelenskyy would be in a more advantageous position.
