Zelenskyy’s visit to Italy

On April 12, it became known that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy would visit Rome on an official trip to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Italy remains one of Ukraine’s key allies in the EU, consistently supporting sanctions pressure on Russia and humanitarian aid programs.

This is the Ukrainian leader’s first visit to Rome since July 2025. The previous meeting between the leaders also focused on long-term defense support and attracting Italian investment in the reconstruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure.

Just a day earlier, on April 14, the Ukrainian President had already visited Germany and Norway.

Important agreements were reached in Germany. In particular, this includes a €4 billion defense package, under which the German government will finance the purchase of a large number of missiles for Ukraine’s Patriot air defense systems.
