The President of Ukraine will participate in events dedicated to the start of Denmark's presidency of the EU Council. The royal couple, members of the Danish government, and a number of European politicians will also take part.
Since July 1, Denmark has taken over the presidency of the EU Council from Poland. Denmark's presidency motto is "A strong Europe in a changing world."
The Danish government noted that the main task will be creating a more resilient and independent European Union capable of responding independently to geopolitical challenges. Among the priorities are support for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.
Denmark's assistance to Ukraine
Denmark remains one of Ukraine's most active partner countries. Copenhagen has provided military aid to the Ukrainian army, including heavy equipment.
Denmark also joined the aviation coalition by transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
In addition, Ukraine and Denmark are launching joint weapons production. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Denmark would become the first country with which Ukraine will start joint defense manufacturing.
