Ukraine is ready for meetings with representatives of the United States. Negotiations will begin soon, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.

According to him, Ukraine can now speak more confidently about special economic projects with the United States, particularly in the areas of resource extraction and processing.

"We are already ready for meetings with representatives of the United States - negotiations will take place soon. At many levels," Zelenskyy said.

Trump's proposal on rare earth metals

Recently, US President Donald Trump stated that the US is interested in Ukrainian rare earth metals and is open to negotiating a deal to obtain them in exchange for weapons supplies. He added that Ukraine had allegedly agreed to provide the US with resources worth $500 billion as payment for military aid. In response, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is open to US proposals.

Today it was announced that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will visit Ukraine this week. According to Bloomberg, Bessent plans to visit Ukraine as part of initial negotiations aimed at securing US access to critical minerals.

The rare earth metals are a group of 17 metals found in small quantities in nature. Ukraine is known to have strategically valuable deposits of graphite, uranium, titanium, and lithium.
