Ukraine is preparing responses to Russian escalation and actively working with international partners to strengthen its air defenses and support its air force, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, priority steps to counter enemy actions were identified during a briefing by Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) chief Oleksandr Poklad and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa.
Ukraine is working through all available channels with partners capable of providing additional air defense systems and ammunition for F-16 fighter jets.
"First, we are preparing our responses to this wave of Russian escalation. Second, we are working through all available channels with partners who can provide Ukraine with additional air defense packages and munitions for F-16s. I am grateful to every country that is ready to help," Zelenskyy said.
The briefing also focused on supplying Ukrainian troops on the front line and fulfilling requests coming directly from the battlefield.
"We continue to fulfill the requests raised by combat corps and brigade commanders during meetings on the front lines. Glory to Ukraine," the president emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also called on the US to allow Ukraine to use Starlink over Russian territory, saying that gaining an advantage in the skies could force Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
Meanwhile, the president announced a new round of talks between Ukrainian and American delegations, scheduled for October 9 and 10 in the US.
The two sides will discuss further support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia.
