President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the United States to allow Ukraine to use Starlink over Russian territory. This would force Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table, according to Novyny.LIVE.
The president called on the United States to help Ukraine protect its skies and provide the necessary Starlink capabilities.
He cited Israel as an example, saying that it had full control of the skies over Iran.
"Open Starlink for Ukraine. You opened it when you responded to Iran, didn’t you? Everything worked there. Israel had full control of the skies over Iran. So, does it work when you need it?" the head of state said.
At the same time, the president said that China is approaching the creation of an alternative to Starlink, which it is providing to Russia.
According to him, Ukraine is discussing this threat with its partners. Europeans are also developing similar systems and are ready to help, but they are not yet as close to the desired result.
"And I spoke frankly: Give us, help us protect the skies and dominate there, and then Putin will sit down at the negotiating table," Zelenskyy stressed.
The president is convinced that the United States already has the necessary capabilities to provide such assistance.
He called the delay amid Chinese developments for Russia an unwillingness to act, rather than the diplomatic impasse previously mentioned by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Ukraine has already begun the process of creating its own satellite system similar to Starlink.
The development was prompted by the fact that the United States refuses to provide Ukraine with the ability to use Starlink satellite internet for strikes against Russia.
