Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. They discussed advancing peace in Ukraine, said the President during his evening address.

"We aligned our steps, our diplomacy, and our teams' work to bring peace closer and ensure security. We are preparing a meeting of our military representatives to prepare contingents," Zelenskyy stated.

He also expressed gratitude to the UK for maintaining pressure on Russia to prevent further escalation.

"In Moscow, they openly mock partners' efforts to push a peace agenda, launching constant drone strikes and brutal shelling. The only way to stop this is through pressure, forcing Russia toward peace," he stressed.

Peacekeeping mission in Ukraine

Earlier, Starmer announced the creation of a "coalition of the willing" to ensure peace in Ukraine. Its goal is to unite countries that are ready to send troops to Ukraine.

This idea resulted in a summit of the "coalition of the willing" held recently in Paris. It became known that France and the UK had decided to send a special mission to Ukraine to strengthen the Ukrainian army.

Later, French President Emmanuel Macron said that a Franco-British team would be sent to Ukraine. However, it is not yet known who will be part of it.
