All Ukrainian defenders who have received the title of Hero and have become recipients of the Golden Star order since the start of Russia's military aggression will be provided with state-owned housing, states President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a video address on December 5th.

President emphasizes the country's initiation of a crucial initiative based on the principle: "Ukraine defends those who defend Ukraine."

"Under this initiative, everyone who has been bestowed with the title of Hero of Ukraine since the beginning of the war will receive their own housing. All those who, defending the state, became recipients of the Golden Star order. All without exception," Zelenskyy stresses.

According to him, 360 Ukrainians have already received such awards since the full-scale Russian invasion began.

"The state will take care of each one of them - both those with us and the families of those who sacrificed their lives for the country," the President states.

The head of state also expresses gratitude to all Ukrainian defender-heroes for their courageous resistance to the invaders.

"I sincerely thank the families of the fallen for their endurance and bravery. I firmly believe that one day, everyone will know about the valor and feats of each Hero of Ukraine in a peaceful Ukraine - a Ukraine that has triumphed. A Ukraine that will triumph," reads Zelenskyy's statement.

The head of state also presented 12 certificates for apartments to servicemen of the Armed Forces who were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, and another 9 such certificates to the families of fallen heroes.

In October, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the government's launch of new experimental projects related to servicemen of the Armed Forces and veterans.
