Zelenskyy and Kazakhstani leader Tokayev hold talks on war resolution and collaboration

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Kazakhstani leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The two sides discussed efforts to end the war and cooperation between their countries, according to a post on the president’s Telegram.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the key task now is to achieve a just and lasting peace with reliable security guarantees.
The president also noted that he discussed with Tokayev efforts to end the war, as well as matters of cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
“We discussed in detail the efforts of Ukraine, the United States, Europe, and other partners around the world to end this war and stop the killings. We also touched separately on issues of trade and economic cooperation, including the interest of Kazakhstani companies in participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction,” the head of state said.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Zelenskyy in New York
On the night of September 23, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in New York with a Ukrainian delegation to participate in the autumn session of the UN General Assembly, the first leaders’ summit of the Coalition for the Return of Children, and the annual Crimea Platform summit, which in 2025 will take place for the first time on a global stage.
The president noted that nearly two dozen meetings are planned during the visit.
Additionally, Andrii Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, outlined Ukraine’s objectives during the trip. According to him, these include maintaining and strengthening sanctions against Russia, securing new support for Ukraine, providing greater momentum for the return of prisoners and abducted Ukrainian children, and accelerating the implementation of security guarantees for Ukraine.
