Zelenskyy: 100-year agreement with UK has a secret part
The so-called 100-year agreement between Ukraine and the UK contains a secret part, which will add resilience to Ukraine and provide development opportunities, according to a statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He noted that the century-long agreement represents a fundamentally new format of relations.
"The closest relations now are between Ukraine and the UK, and some things we included in the century-long agreement could definitely be done with other countries as well," said Zelenskyy.
According to him, the UK has planned military aid for Ukraine amounting to $6.6 billion in 2025, after which it will allocate at least $3 billion annually. The agreement also covers economic, technological, and educational cooperation.
"There is also a closed, secret part of the agreement. Everything that truly adds resilience to us and provides development opportunities," the president added.
Furthermore, together with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Zelenskyy met with drone manufacturers. He stated that this sector will receive even more investments, and 2025 will set a new record for the volume of Ukrainian drones.
Today Ukraine and the UK signed an agreement on a 100-year partnership. It is expected that this agreement will indeed remain in force for the next 100 years unless either side wishes to withdraw.
Afterward, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that London would provide 150 artillery barrels and a mobile air defense system, Gravehawk. He also promised that in 2025, the UK would provide more military aid to Ukraine "than ever before."
As it turned out, two prototypes of the Gravehawk system had already been tested in Ukraine, and this year, 15 more such surface-to-air missile systems will be delivered.
