Explosions were heard in the Zaporizhzhia region and the city of Zaporizhzhia. The region is under a massive attack by Russian Shahed drones, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“A hostile strike-type UAV is heading toward the Shevchenkivskyi district of Zaporizhzhia,” Fedorov stated at 02:05 Kyiv time.
He later added that explosions in the Zaporizhzhia region are also due to the actions of Ukrainian air defense systems.
The military reported the movement of a group of drones in the Zaporizhzhia region heading north.
Attack on Zaporizhzhia
On the evening of Saturday, September 6, the Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with attack drones.
The strike damaged residential buildings and destroyed a kindergarten in the city, causing disruptions to the electricity and water supply.
According to the latest reports, 15 people were injured in the attack.
