Zaporizhzhia hit by Russian night attack, blackout and fires reported

In the early hours of September 15, a series of explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia. Power outages and fires in private homes were reported in one of the communities, according to a Telegram post by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“As a result of the attack, one community is without electricity. Private homes are on fire. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties,” he wrote.
Fedorov also shared photos showing the aftermath of the Russian attack.

Update at 4:00 a.m.
The head of the Regional Military Administration clarified that Russian forces carried out three strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. The fires have now been extinguished.
What preceded this
Earlier that night, at 2:39 a.m. Kyiv time, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that an alert had been issued in the region. At 2:29 a.m., he had warned of a threat of high-speed missile strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region.
A few minutes later, explosions were heard in the region. Fedorov confirmed that the explosions heard in Zaporizhzhia were the result of an enemy attack on the district. He later added that the attack caused a fire and that emergency services had been dispatched to the site.
