The Russian army attacked a critical infrastructure facility in the city of Zaporizhzhia on the night of Sunday, June 1, according to a statement from the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

According to him, the Russians attacked a critical infrastructure facility in Zaporizhzhia.

"As a result of the strike, an administrative building was partially destroyed and a fire broke out on the premises," he wrote.

Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.

Around 4:00 AM Kyiv time, Fedorov reported explosions in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Night attack on Ukraine

On the evening of Saturday, May 31, the Russian army launched groups of strike drones across Ukraine’s territory. The Air Forces warned about drone movements in eastern, central, and northern regions.

Around 2:00 AM Kyiv time on Sunday, June 1, Russia carried out a ballistic missile attack. Explosions were reported, including in Kyiv.

Just a few hours later, Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported the operation of air defense systems in the capital, which was under attack by drones at the time.
