Explosions were heard again in Kyiv overnight into Sunday, June 1, as the city came under attack by Russian attack drones, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Air Force.

"Air defense is active in the capital. Stay in shelters," Klitschko reported.

Shortly before that, the Air Force had issued a warning about an incoming threat of attack drones targeting the capital.

Earlier the same night, Russia also attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Explosions were reported at the time, but so far, there has been no official information on damage.

The Kyiv City Military Administration had warned earlier that the capital was under a combined attack.

"The threat remains high. Stay in shelters and follow all safety instructions until the air raid alert is over," officials cautioned.

On the evening of Saturday, May 31, Russian forces launched several groups of Shahed drones across Ukraine.

During the night of May 31, Russia launched 109 attack drones at Ukraine, including two jet-powered ones.

As of 8:30 AM Kyiv time, air defense forces had downed 69 drones, while another 30 were locally lost or suppressed by electronic warfare.
