Explosions were heard in Kyiv overnight into Sunday, June 1, as the Russian military launched a ballistic missile attack, according to the Air Force and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

Around 1:42 AM Kyiv time, the Air Force warned of a high-speed target heading toward the capital. Just minutes later, explosions were heard in Kyiv.

According to Tkachenko, Russia used ballistic missiles and attack drones.

"Stay in safe places until the all-clear is given," he wrote.

The Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed that a combined attack on the capital was underway.

"The threat remains high. Stay in shelters and follow all safety rules until the air raid alert is over," the statement said.

On the evening of Saturday, May 31, Russian forces once again launched several groups of Shahed drones across Ukrainian territory.

In the early hours of May 31, Russia launched 109 attack drones on Ukraine, including two jet-powered ones.

As of 8:30 AM Kyiv time, air defense forces had destroyed 69 drones, while another 30 were either lost or jammed by electronic warfare systems.
