The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, held a meeting with a German delegation, during which the parties discussed, among other things, preparations for the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, scheduled to take place in the German capital, Berlin, in June, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian official.

The German delegation at the meeting was led by the State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office, Thomas Bagger, and the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, a representative of Germany in the Coordination Platform of Donors for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Jochen Flasbarth.

According to Yermak, during the talks, he noted the high level of cooperation between Ukraine and Germany and expressed gratitude to the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and the entire German people for robust comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in countering full-scale Russian aggression.

"The preparation for the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, scheduled to take place in Berlin in June, became an important topic of discussion," the statement said.

Yermak also thanked Germany for co-organizing this event and "emphasized that concrete results are expected to be achieved as a result of it."

Conferences on the reconstruction of Ukraine

It is worth noting that Ukraine has already hosted a series of international conferences to attract investments for the reconstruction of the country after the annexation war initiated by Russia.

Earlier reports indicated that the European Union had promised to assist with post-war recovery in Ukraine back in 2022. Meanwhile, other partners of Kyiv also continue to support individual cities and regions.

Last summer, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that each region would require a new policy within the framework of transformation. It was also reported that Ukraine had secured new agreements for reconstruction from its allies.

In September 2023, the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, announced that the next Conference on Post-War Reconstruction in Ukraine in 2024 would take place in the German capital, Berlin.

It has also recently been announced that a conference dedicated to the economic recovery of Ukraine will take place in Tokyo, Japan, on February 19, with the participation of over 30 Ukrainian companies. Previously, similar conferences were held in London and Rome.
