Yemen's Houthis have launched a massive series of attacks on military facilities and critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, Al Jazeera reports.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the attacks had taken place over the past 48 hours.

The targets included Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry in Riyadh, facilities belonging to energy company Saudi Aramco in Yanbu, as well as Abha International Airport and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

According to Saudi authorities, two people were killed in the strike on the airport in Dammam.

The latest large-scale attack comes amid broader tensions and an escalation of the conflict in the Persian Gulf region.

On October 10, Riyadh International Airport came under a major attack that became the deadliest incident in Saudi Arabia in more than a decade.

The strike killed 12 people and injured more than 300.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran had provided the Houthis with intelligence and helped them guide missiles and drones toward oil tankers, airports, and energy facilities in Saudi Arabia.
