The ratification of the Rome Statute by Armenia has made the world even smaller for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, according to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on Twitter.

The official welcomed Armenia's ratification of the Rome Statute, which establishes the International Criminal Court - it previously issued an arrest warrant for Putin.

She notes that Armenia has joined 123 countries "committed to the rule of law."

"The world is getting smaller for the autocrat in the Kremlin," von der Leyen added, hinting at Putin.

Background

Today, on October 3, the Armenian parliament ratified the Rome Statute. Thus, the country committed to implementing all decisions of the International Criminal Court.

Previously, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Putin and Ombudswoman Maria Lvova-Belova for the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
