Woman killed in overnight Russian attack on Kyiv

A woman was killed in the overnight attack on Kyiv, according to Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko and Ukraine's State Emergency Service.
Around midnight, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration warned that the enemy was attacking the city with ballistic missiles.
"The enemy is attacking the city with ballistic missiles. Stay in shelters!" Tymur Tkachenko wrote.
Later, he said that enemy attack drones had also been detected near Kyiv, and residents were advised not to leave shelters until the air raid alert was lifted.
During the attack, preliminary information emerged about one injured person.

"At this time, there is preliminary information about one person injured as a result of the enemy attack," Tkachenko said.
Woman killed, two injured
In the morning, it became known that casualties could not be avoided.
"Unfortunately, we have information that a woman was killed as a result of tonight's attack. As of now, there is one fatality and two people injured. My sincere condolences to the family and loved ones," the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration wrote.

As of 8:30 a.m., rescuers were continuing to extinguish fires at two locations in the Sviatoshynskyi and Desnianskyi districts of the capital.
While extinguishing the fire at one location in the Sviatoshynskyi district, firefighters discovered the body of a woman. The circumstances of the tragedy are currently being clarified.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, air defenses did not intercept a single ballistic missile during the overnight attack on July 8 — all five Iskander missiles hit four locations. In total, Russia used two types of missiles and 169 attack drones, of which 139 were neutralized.
Russia also struck Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs, leaving thousands of residents without electricity and damaging an industrial facility and a garage complex.
Three people were injured, including a 43-year-old employee of the enterprise.
