Witkoff to be in Moscow today, visit may bear some fruit – US ambassador to NATO

US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff will visit Moscow on Sunday. The visit may yield certain results, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker, and his interview with the WHO13 TV channel.
The diplomat noted that Ukraine and Russia must agree to a peace deal and just stop the killing.
He emphasized that thousands of soldiers die on the battlefield every week, and hundreds of Ukrainian civilians are killed or injured during nightly attacks.
"US Ambassador would be in Moscow this weekend, that is maybe going to bear some fruit," Whitaker stated.
Trump's deadline for Russia
On July 29, US President Donald Trump shortened the deadline for Russia to reach peace with Ukraine to just 10 days. The new deadline expires on August 8.
However, the Kremlin announced its intention to continue its aggressive war.
Trump later said that Steve Witkoff would visit Moscow for talks with Vladimir Putin and did not rule out imposing sanctions on Russia.
US Ambassador to NATO Whitaker is convinced that Trump’s sanctions would strip Russia of its ability to continue the war.
