Talks between the US, Ukraine, and Russia will continue in a trilateral format at the technical level, US special envoy Steve Witkoff said.

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held a series of meetings with Ukrainian, Russian, and European leaders in Oslo and St. Petersburg.

The main purpose of the trip was to advance US President Donald Trump's mission to end the war.

A meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin took place in St. Petersburg.

The talks built on the progress made during the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo and also covered details of a peace agreement.

In addition, during the meeting, the US side expressed gratitude for the release of US citizen Stephen Hubbard, who will now be able to return to his family.

"These discussions were constructive, and will continue with trilateral talks between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine at the technical level," Witkoff said.

The US special envoy emphasized that despite the significant amount of work still to be done, the United States remains committed to achieving peace.

"While there is still important work left to do, President Trump remains committed to seeing this war end and achieving a comprehensive, durable peace that will provide security and prosperity for generations to come," he stressed.

US President Donald Trump wants Ukraine and Russia to sign a peace agreement during the G20 summit, which is scheduled to take place in Florida in December. The negotiations could take place under significant pressure on Kyiv.

Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance supported the position of US President's envoy Steve Witkoff. The special envoy called Russian President Vladimir Putin a humanist, sparking widespread media attention.
