The talks between US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place tomorrow evening, December 2, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said, as reported by TASS.

Russian-American contacts will take place in Moscow on December 2. On Monday, Putin will also hold a private meeting amid preparations for talks with American negotiators.

"The president also has non-public meetings today as part of preparations for tomorrow's Russian-American contacts," Peskov said.

According to him, Putin's meeting with the US president's special envoy is scheduled for the second half of Tuesday.

Work on the US peace plan

Earlier, the United States presented a new peace plan to end the war in Ukraine, which contained 28 points, some of which were highly favorable to Russia.

In connection with this, on November 23, a meeting of delegations from the United States, Ukraine, and Europe was held in Geneva, where the document was revised to make it more acceptable for Kyiv. After that, the plan was changed and already differed significantly from the original version.

Work on the document continued in the United States. Thus, on November 30, the United States and Ukraine held new negotiations in Florida. In particular, issues of territory were actively discussed, and Ukraine's NATO membership was also raised.

The next stage of discussing the peace plan would be the visit of the American delegation to Russia, which was initially scheduled for the second half of the week, December 4–5.
