NATO will not be able to provide protection to member countries if the United States leaves the North Atlantic Alliance, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Talented Youth Forum in Kyiv, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian state said that Europe, in the context of NATO, is currently in a situation where "you either attract the United States or you don’t."

“Without the United States of America, this Alliance — let’s not make a diagnosis, but without America, it’s not NATO. It may be a strong alliance, but definitely without America. An alliance without America does not pose a threat to Russia. Not that they want to threaten… but (it — ed.) is not even a protection for its member states, in my view,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also pointed out that the Ukrainian army is currently the strongest in Europe, which is why Europe must support and protect Ukraine.

"Because if there is aggression tomorrow, or if there is a threat tomorrow, and the United States continues its policy of isolation, besides Ukraine, there is no one to strengthen Europe," Zelenskyy said.

Criticism of Europe by Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during his speech at the World Economic Forum, criticized Europe.

In particular, the head of state said that Europe still does not know how to defend itself. On the issue of Greenland, he added, European countries are simply counting on the United States to "lose interest in this topic."

He also pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not only still not in court, but has even managed to "stop Europe" when it comes to the confiscation of frozen assets.
