White House upset over Peace Prize not awarded to Trump

After the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate — Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado — the White House stated that the Nobel Committee placed "politics over peace," said White House Communications Director Steven Cheung.
"President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will. The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace," Chung said.
Nobel Peace Prize 2025
Today, October 10, at 12:00 p.m. Kyiv time, the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate was announced in Oslo, the capital of Norway. The award was given to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump repeatedly stated that he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize because, from the beginning of his new term in the White House, he had managed to end several wars.
In response to the question of why Trump did not receive the prize, a committee representative said that the organization bases its decisions solely "on the work and the will of Alfred Nobel," not on public campaigns.
Who is Machado
María Corina Machado is the leader of Venezuela's opposition. She was banned from participating in last year's presidential elections, which the international community called neither transparent nor fair.
Before the vote, Machado organized mass rallies in Caracas in support of candidate Edmundo González.
Her activity caused concern within Nicolás Maduro's regime, as Machado managed to unite the opposition and mobilize thousands of Venezuelans to join protests and to vote.
More details about the laureate's biography and the specifics of the Nobel Peace Prize can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
