The United States of America will continue to work with Ukraine even after the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi, says John Kirby, the coordinator of the National Security Council of the White House.

Kirby reminded that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also the Supreme Commander. And he can decide who will lead the army. Such civil control.

"And we'll work with whoever who is in charge of the military. We'll continue to work with the Ukrainian government," he emphasized.

According to Kirby, he is not aware of any discussions between the Ukrainian and American authorities about the decision to dismiss Zaluzhnyi.

"But if the question is proposing that we had some sort of right to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down, that's not true. This is President Zelenskyy's decision," added the coordinator of the National Security Council of the White House.

Dismissal of Zaluzhnyi

We will remind you that today, February 8, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Valerii Zaluzhnyi from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rumors about such a decision by Zelensky appeared last week, but the decree was made public only now.

It is worth noting that information about Zaluzhny's dismissal appeared last year. This happened against the background of the conflict between the former commander-in-chief and the president.

Oleksandr Syrskii, who was previously the commander of the Ground Forces, replaced Zaluzhny as commander-in-chief.
