When will US-Russia talks resume? Analyst's prediction

The United States and Russia could resume high-level negotiations as early as next week or shortly thereafter. The countries are likely to discuss President Donald Trump's meeting with Vladimir Putin, said political analyst Volodymyr Fesenko in a comment to the YouTube channel of RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, US-Russia talks are expected to restart in March. However, the two sides have yet to agree on arranging a Trump-Putin meeting.
Fesenko noted that, in contrast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already secured a meeting with the American leader. Notably, Zelenskyy will meet with Trump before Trump meets with Putin.
"I expect the Americans and Russians to resume high-level negotiations. I believe this will happen either next week or shortly afterward, with discussions focusing on when and where the Trump-Putin meeting will take place," Fesenko said.
He also emphasized the need for initial discussions about direct talks between Ukraine and Russia, pointing out that "Washington has raised this issue, but Moscow has not yet agreed."
The analyst added that March will be a busy month for negotiations, as Ukraine and the US continue to discuss a new agreement.
"So, we should brace for more ups and downs - not only regarding this minerals deal but potentially in negotiations aimed at ending the war," he concluded.
US and Russian negotiations
American and Russian officials have already held two meetings. The first took place in Riyadh, and the second in Istanbul.
In particular, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue on ending Russia's war against Ukraine. Special teams will be created for this purpose.
It is not yet known when Trump will meet with Putin.
