What to expect from upcoming Ukraine-Russia talks? Ukraine's FM reveals key topic

During the next meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations, the parties will discuss a ceasefire on the front line, said Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with Libération.
"We are waiting to hear their vision of a ceasefire and will present our own. This will be one of the key topics at the next meeting in the same delegation format that previously took place in Türkiye. We want the negotiation process to move forward and for these meetings to happen as soon as possible," Sybiha stated.
The foreign minister also added that now is the time for diplomacy that can lead to a just and comprehensive peace. At the same time, he emphasized that it is Russia that is the source of aggression and currently refuses to end the war.
Ukraine-Russia talks
On May 16, the first direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in three years took place in Türkiye. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also traveled to the country, intending to hold a personal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, Putin ignored the call for dialogue.
Ukraine was represented by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, while the Russian delegation was led by Putin's advisor, Vladimir Medinsky.
During the meeting, the delegations discussed a large-scale prisoner exchange in a 1,000-for-1,000 format.
The exchange took place over the weekend in three stages.
