Russia carried out a massive drone strike on Ukraine on April 1. There are fatalities and injuries, as well as fires and widespread power outages.

RBC-Ukraine has compiled everything known so far about the consequences of the attack.

Cherkasy region: Four killed

In the Cherkasy region, a drone killed four people in the Zolotonosha district.

"This happened in an open area during an air raid alert. All circumstances are currently being established by law enforcement. My condolences to the families…" wrote Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets.

Investigators are determining the circumstances.

Ternopil region: Strike on an enterprise

In the Zalishchyky territorial community of the Chortkiv district, a drone hit an agricultural enterprise. The strike caused a fire, which was quickly contained, according to the Zalishchyky City Council.

There were no casualties. All relevant services were working at the scene.

"The drone attack on our country is still ongoing. Some UAVs are moving in a western direction," warned Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Taras Pastukh.

Consequences of the attack in Zakarpattia

After an explosion in the Perechyn community, power went out. There were no injuries, said community head Pohoriliak.

Head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletskyi, confirmed a strike on critical infrastructure.

Ivano-Frankivsk region and Bukovyna

Explosions were heard in Burshtyn and Sniatyn. Explosions were also reported in Bukovel and across Bukovyna during the Shahed drone attack.

Due to the drone strike, the Sniatyn, Zabolotiv, Pidhaychyky, and Mateivtsi territorial communities are without electricity. Partial outages were reported in the Hvizdets community, according to Prykarpattiaoblenergo (primary energy distribution system operator). In total, 11,000 consumers in the region are without power, the Regional Military Administration reported.

Lviv region

In some settlements of the Lviv region, power outages were also reported. Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi confirmed the presence of drones over the region and urged residents not to ignore air raid alerts.

Head of the Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported on the consequences of the attack.

"During the air raid alert, the Lviv region was attacked by enemy combat drones. Specialized services are working on the ground. The scale of the consequences is being determined. UAV debris is also being found across the region," he said.

Poltava region: Injured, including a child

In the Poltava community, a UAV fell into the yard of private homes and damaged an outbuilding, according to Head of the Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Diakivnych.

Initially, one person was reported injured, but later the number rose to four — including a child.

Sumy region

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the enemy attacked a civilian enterprise in the Konotop district. As a result of the attack, three people were injured.

Train delays across Ukraine

Ukrzaliznytsia (state-owned joint-stock company operating the national railway system in Ukraine) has warned of widespread train delays due to the drone attack. Passengers and those awaiting train arrivals are advised to take these delays into account.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, monitoring resources recorded more than 90 drones in the air simultaneously. The attack has been ongoing since the night.

Following the attack on the morning of April 1, Lutsk was covered in smoke. Major fires broke out in the city, with reports of an enemy UAV or its debris hitting a multi-storey residential building.

Earlier, the situation was also tense in Khmelnytskyi. Strong fires broke out there as a result of Shahed drone strikes.
