Western sanctions are working. They are gradually undermining Russia's ability to produce weapons, reports The Washington Post.

US officials expressed this opinion, some speaking on the condition of anonymity when discussing confidential intelligence. They noted that sanctions are weakening Russia's arms production in a way that will relentlessly hinder Moscow's ability to achieve its objectives on the battlefield.

Moreover, many independent experts agree that the sanctions have worsened the quality of Russian equipment and made supply chains more fragile.

The Washington Post, citing US officials and experts, reports that Russia is losing more tanks and howitzers each month than its factories can produce. Continued pressure could eventually force some assembly lines to halt.

In an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Advisor and Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, revealed that Ukraine has proposed a new approach to imposing restrictions on Russia.

The approach suggests adding to existing sanctions rather than creating new sanction packages. The idea is currently being promoted among several countries.
