US President Donald Trump believes that Russia’s war against Ukraine will eventually be resolved. He said the United States is working hard to make that happen.

He made the remarks during the holiday Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Washington, with reference to the White House broadcast.

The US president again stressed that the United States has resolved global conflicts and wars many times before. For this reason, he believes it will be possible to do so again in the case of Ukraine.

"And we are establishing peace around the world, settling wars at levels nobody has ever seen before, up to eight different levels. We are looking for another option to settle with Russia and Ukraine, if that is possible. And I believe that in the end we will get there," Trump said.

He also highlighted the heavy human losses in Ukraine, saying that thousands and tens of thousands of soldiers are dying and that this must be stopped urgently. According to the US president, the United States is working hard to address this.

"Last week, eight thousand soldiers were killed in a month. They have lost twenty-seven thousand troops for nothing. This must be stopped. We are working very hard on it," he concluded.

Regarding the war in Ukraine and recent signals from Washington, US Vice President JD Vance expressed hope that there will be "good news" in the coming weeks.

National Security and Defence Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov travelled to the United States for talks with the American delegation.

This followed a meeting between US representatives and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Washington has not disclosed details of the talks for security reasons.

However, the Kremlin said no compromise was reached on ending the war in Ukraine during discussions with Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and the US president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
