In the north of Pokrovsk, Russian forces attempted to storm the positions of units of the 25th separate airborne Sicheslav brigade of the 7th corps of the Assault Forces of the Airborne Forces, according to the 7th corps of the Airborne Forces.
More than 20 Russian infantrymen attempted to take advantage of the weather conditions to advance and move toward Ukrainian positions under cover. But the paratroopers detected the enemy in time and opened fire.
Thanks to coordinated actions, the Ukrainian military inflicted fire damage on the assault group. After that, the Russians lost the ability to continue their offensive and were forced to hide in private houses and basements.
During further reconnaissance, units of the 25th Airborne Brigade eliminated the enemy.
The brigade released a video of the repelled attack and the final stage of the assault group's destruction.

On January 7, fighters of the 46th separate airborne Podilsk brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped a large-scale attack by Russian troops in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to information from the Airborne Assault Forces command, the enemy launched an offensive using tanks, armored vehicles, and infantry, but thanks to the coordinated actions of engineering units, artillery, and drone operators, the assault was successfully repelled.
As a result of the fighting, the enemy suffered significant losses: Ukrainian defenders destroyed two tanks, two armored vehicles, and other equipment.
Ukrainian units control the northern part of Pokrovsk and are holding back the enemy on the approaches to Myrnohrad. According to National Guard commander Oleksandr Pivnenko, forces are being assembled for counterattacks, but weather conditions are complicating combat operations.
