Russia will seriously consider ending the war only when life in major cities like St Petersburg, Moscow, or Krasnodar becomes unsafe and uncomfortable, Ukraine's defense ministry says.
The ministry noted that Ukraine's Defense Forces have long been working to "bring the war back to where it came from."
According to the Ministry of Defense, this has recently become increasingly noticeable for Russia — attacks on Moscow have been recorded, strikes on facilities in Russia's Leningrad region, including port infrastructure, as well as constant raids on Sochi.
"There is one simple understanding — Russia will start thinking about ending the war when it becomes unsafe and uncomfortable for creatures in Moscow, St Petersburg, Krasnodar, and other major cities to live," the ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that this is only the beginning, and Ukrainian defenders are just "testing the ground."
"The Defense Forces will repay everyone who brought the war," the statement added.
Strikes on Russian territory
Recently, Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory have become systematic and significantly more effective. In addition, Ukraine is expanding the geography of attacks, striking deep in the rear of the opponent.
Thus, on the night of March 23, drones hit one of the largest export oil terminals in the port of Primorsk in the Leningrad region. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack and reported damage to the oil terminal Transneft - port Primorsk.
According to preliminary information, both the tank farm and oil loading infrastructure were affected.
The night of March 21 also became a serious test for the Russian air defense system. Russia reported the largest drone raid of the year.
Explosions were heard in Moscow, Saratov, and the most intense activity was in the Rostov region.
