The war in Ukraine has already entered a decisive phase. Kyiv now needs funding for weapons production, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in an interview with Spiegel.
"The war in Ukraine has entered a potentially decisive phase, and we must seize this moment," he said.
According to the German defense minister, Ukraine now needs funding for weapons production. Pistorius also stressed that the pace of financial support for Kyiv must not be reduced.
"I believe that we should not let up," he said.
Boris Pistorius previously said that Berlin would allocate 300 million euros to support the Czech initiative to procure and supply ammunition for Ukraine.
In addition, the German defense company Rheinmetall signed a contract with Ukraine worth tens of millions of euros for the supply of artillery shells. Under the agreement, the order is to be fulfilled in the first quarter of 2027.
Ukraine's defense-industrial complex is gradually increasing the level of production localization.
At the same time, enterprises still largely depend on imported components, some of which remain in short supply.
