War end prospects may be known within two weeks, says Trump

The prospects for ending Russia's war against Ukraine will be determined in the near future. This will likely happen within one or two weeks, US President Donald Trump said during a conversation with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders.
"In a certain period of time, not very far from now, a week or two weeks, we're going to know whether or not we're going to solve this or is this horrible fighting going to continue," Trump said.
The US President also stated at the beginning of the meeting with Zelenskyy and European leaders that he is optimistic about a peace agreement regarding Ukraine.
Meeting at the White House
Today, August 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United States. At the White House, he, together with US President Donald Trump, spoke with journalists.
Then Zelenskyy and Trump held a closed meeting with delegations. Later, there was an open meeting of the presidents with European leaders and media representatives, and afterwards they went to closed negotiations.
