Voice of America staff put on leave after Trump's executive order

Employees of Voice of America have been placed on administrative leave following an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump, reports ABC News and the White House.
On March 14, Trump signed an order to cut funding for seven US federal agencies. Among them is the US Agency for Global Media, which oversees Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Voice of America.
This morning, according to a memo obtained by ABC, full-time employees of Voice of America received an email from the human resources department. The message informed them that they had been placed on paid administrative leave.
The list includes members of the Voice of America team covering White House events and those in the White House radio pool.
The email also stated that employees on administrative leave would not be allowed access to government buildings or systems. It was advised that any necessary contact with them should be made via personal email and mobile phones.
