Trump orders cuts to agencies, including one overseeing Voice of America and Radio Free Europe

US President Trump signed an executive order to cut seven federal agencies. Among them is the agency that oversees Voice of America and Radio Free Europe.
"This order continues the reduction in the elements of the Federal bureaucracy that the President has determined are unnecessary," said the White House.
The list of agencies for reduction includes:
- the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service;
- the United States Agency for Global Media;
- the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in the Smithsonian Institution;
- the Institute of Museum and Library Services;
- the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness;
- the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund; and
- the Minority Business Development Agency.
It is known that the US Agency for Global Media oversees Radio Free Europe and Voice of America.
Within a week, the head of each government agency on the list for reduction must submit a report to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget regarding the implementation of the law.
It was reported last week that Ukrainian journalist Ostap Yarysh was fired from Voice of America, which is funded by the US government. Yarysh stated that he was affected by the reduction of federal workers under the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is headed by Elon Musk.
The DOGE Department is responsible for reviewing the funding of organizations and federal departments in the US and advising the government on cuts and layoffs for supposed efficiency in spending.
